The people were starving. They came to Ceres and implored her to bring back plenty, and save their lives. Ceres lifted her face, weary with ceaseless wandering, and said, “I cannot take care of the earth until I get back my lost daughter.”
So the people thought of praying to Jupiter who was the king of the gods. And to Jupiter they sent their prayer to bring Proserpine back to her mother. They were sadly in need of Ceres’s help.

3. READING COMPREHENSION (UNSEEN)
Cancer is a very dangerous disease that spreads abnormally in the human body. There are many types of cancer but blood cancer, breast cancer, brain cancer, and skin cancer are very common. Breast cancer occurs mostly in women.
In a study, it has been found that more than 100 types of cancer can affect the human body.
Doctors do some tests to diagnose cancer such as C.3/5 scans, CBC and WBC test, Hemoglobin test, MRIs, etc. To prevent cancer, they advise cancer patients to eat more tomatoes, broccoli, ginger, turmeric, etc.
Although cancer is mostly caused by the use of tobacco, obesity, poor diet, and drinking alcohol can also be the reason for it.

The Subject I Like Most
My favourite subject is Science. I like this subject most because it helps me understand the world around us and teaches us about nature, life and technology. I spend about one hour every day reading Science. I consult my school textbook, reference books and interesting science magazines. My Science teacher and my parents have helped me create a deep interest in this subject. I always enjoy learning new things through Science.
