Read the following passage and answer the questions that follows :

(Lesson – 1, The Wind Cap)

There was once a lad who wanted to be a sailor but his mother would not let him go to the sea. “Child, what do you know of sailing ?” she would say.
“You’re a farmer’s son, you know the turn of the seasons and the smell of the soil but you do not know the sea.”

Now the boy whose name was Jon, had always obeyed his mother. So he went about his farm work with a heavy heart but did not again mention the sea.

One day, he had been walking behind the plough. He all but ran over a tiny green turtle on a clod of dirt. He picked the turtle up and set it on his head where he knew it would be safe. When he was done with ploughing, Jon plucked the turtle from his head.

Read the following passage and answer the questions that follows :

The Story of the Selfless Farmer

There was once a farmer named Raj who lived in a small village. He was known for his kindness and generosity. One day, a severe drought hit the village, and many farmers lost their crops. Raj, however, shared his own food and water with his neighbors, even though he had limited resources.

As the drought continued, the villagers grew weaker and weaker. Raj, despite his own struggles, continued to help others. One day, a group of villagers came to Raj’s farm, seeking help. Raj welcomed them and shared what little food he had. Just then, a wealthy merchant passed by and saw the villagers eating at Raj’s farm. He was so impressed with Raj’s selflessness that he decided to reward him.

The merchant gave Raj a large sum of money and a magical seed that would grow into a tree that would produce abundant fruit and water. Raj was overjoyed, but instead of keeping the seed for himself, he shared it with the entire village. Soon, the tree grew, and the village was filled with an abundance of food and water.

The villagers were forever grateful to Raj, and the village prospered once again.

Ans: Once, two friends were passing through a forest. Suddenly, they saw a bear approaching. One friend quickly climbed a nearby tree, but the other did not know how to climb. Feeling helpless, he lay down on the ground and held his breath, pretending to be a dead man. The bear came near him, sniffed his ears, and thought he was dead. Since bears do not touch dead creatures, it quietly went away. The man was saved.
