1. Read the following test and answer the given questions :
(Lesson – 1, The Wind Cap)
“Since you put me on your head like a hut to keep me safe. listell give you a different kind of cap in return, the kind sailors most desire. A cap full at Vied. But there’s one warning, no human hand will ever be able to take if off”
Then with a blink, the fairy man disappeared leaving a stripped cap behind. Young Jon put the cap on his head and ran home to tell his mother.
“No good will come of the wind cap”. she said. But the lad would have none of her cautions. The very next day, putting on the sailor’s cap, he ran off to the sea. On seeing a ship anchored near the shore, he requested the captain to take him along. Thus began his first ever sca voyage!

4. Write a story in about hundred words using the following hints : 5
[Hints: a poor woodcutter – cuts wood near a river – axe falls into water – cries – a fairy appears – gives golden and silver axe – refuses – gets his own axe – rewarded]

Once there lived a poor woodcutter. He used to cut wood near a river. One day, his axe slipped from his hand and fell into the river. He began to cry. Suddenly, a fairy appeared and asked the reason. She brought a golden axe, but he refused. Then she showed a silver axe; he again refused. Finally, she brought his old iron axe, and he accepted it happily. The fairy was pleased with his honesty and rewarded him with all the three axes.
Moral: Honesty is the best policy.
