Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) was one of the most famous American poets of his day. Longfellow is well known for his lyric poems, noted for their musicality. His first major poetry collections were Voices of the Night (1839) and Ballads and Other Poems (1841). The present text is a part of Longfellow’s poem of the same name.

বাংলা অর্থ : ‘An April Day’ কবিতাটি লিখেছেন হেনরি ওয়াডসওয়ার্থ লংফেলো। হেনরি ওয়াডসওয়ার্থ লংফেলো (১৮০৭-১৮৮২) ছিলেন তাঁর সময়ের একজন অত্যন্ত বিখ্যাত আমেরিকান কবি। তিনি তাঁর গীতিমূলক কবিতার জন্য বিশেষভাবে পরিচিত, যেগুলোর মধ্যে সুরেলা ভাব লক্ষ করা যায়। তাঁর প্রথম উল্লেখযোগ্য কাব্যগ্রন্থ ছিল Voices of the Night (১৮৩৯) এবং Ballads and Other Poems (১৮৪১)। এখানে দেওয়া পাঠ্যাংশটি লংফেলোর একই নামের কবিতার একটি অংশ।

∆ কবিতার বাংলা সারাংশ :
হেনরি ওয়াডসওয়ার্থ লংফেলোর “An April Day” কবিতায় বসন্ত ঋতুর আগমনে প্রকৃতির যে অপূর্ব রূপান্তর ঘটে, তার মনোরম বর্ণনা তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। দীর্ঘ ও কঠোর শীতের পর যখন উষ্ণ সূর্য আবার ফিরে আসে, তখন প্রকৃতি নতুন প্রাণে জেগে ওঠে। বীজ বোনার ও ফসল কাটার উপযুক্ত সময় ফিরে আসে এবং চারপাশে জীবনের স্পন্দন অনুভূত হয়। কবি বলেন, এই সময়ে নীরব ও শান্ত বনে যাওয়া অত্যন্ত আনন্দদায়ক, কারণ সেখানে সমতল ভূমিতে বছরের প্রথম ফুল ফুটে ওঠে।
এই ঋতুকে কবি গভীরভাবে ভালোবাসেন, কারণ তখন বনভূমির ফাঁকা জায়গাগুলো উজ্জ্বল ও প্রাণবন্ত নানা রূপে ভরে থাকে। আকাশ থাকে পরিষ্কার, কালো ও ঘন মেঘ ঝড়ের কোনো পূর্বাভাস দেয় না। প্রকৃতিতে এক ধরনের প্রশান্তি ও সৌন্দর্য বিরাজ করে। শীতের সময়ে ক্ষতবিক্ষত ও নুয়ে পড়া গাছগুলো আবার জীবন ফিরে পায়। আলগা ও উর্বর মাটি থেকে চারাগাছ পুষ্টি গ্রহণ করে বেড়ে ওঠে এবং প্রকৃতি নবজীবনে সঞ্জীবিত হয়।
এই সময়ে মনোরম বন থেকে পাখিদের স্নিগ্ধ ও সুরেলা গান ভেসে আসে। রঙিন ডানাওয়ালা পাখিরা উজ্জ্বল সূর্যের আলোয় দ্রুত উড়ে বেড়ায়, যা বনভূমিকে আরও প্রাণবন্ত করে তোলে। দিনের শেষে সূর্যাস্তের আলো রূপালি বনে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। পাহাড়ের সবুজ ঢাল ছায়া ফেলে নিচের উপত্যকায় এবং বিস্তৃত উঁচু ভূমি আলোয় ঝলমল করে ওঠে।

During this all birds have their wings look with multi coloured hence it is sweet to visit the wood at the time of spring season.

Ans. When spring comes after winter, nature changes beautifully. The cold air becomes warm and pleasant. Trees that looked dry begin to grow fresh green leaves. Colorful flowers bloom in gardens and fields, filling the air with fragrance. Birds return and sing happily in the mornings. The days become longer and brighter, and people feel more active and cheerful. Spring brings new life, hope, and freshness to the world after the dull winter months.

Dear Diary
I prefer the morning more than the evening. My day begins early with the soft light of the sun and cool, fresh air. I wake up feeling relaxed and energetic. After brushing and bathing, I enjoy a quiet morning walk and listen to birds chirping. I then have breakfast with my family, which makes me feel happy and positive. In the morning, my mind is fresh and I can concentrate better on my studies. This peaceful start gives me confidence and sets a good mood for the entire day.
